3 Reasons Why You Should Use Telescoping Tubes

Of all the mailing tubes available, the telescoping tube is one of the most versatile. These tubes have a cap that, instead of just being a flat piece that you stick on the end of the tube, has a small section of the mailing tube attached. You fit that over the end of the main part of the tube and seal the two parts together. The overlapping sections of the tube allow you to expand the length of the tube if you want to mail longer items.

Telescoping tubes are not just handy to have; they're lifesavers for the items mailed in them. Read on to learn about 3 ways you can benefit from using telescoping mailing tubes.

They Offer Extra Reinforcement for Shorter Items

If the item you need to mail is short enough to not require that the telescoped end of the tube be extended, then you have extra reinforcement at that end for the tube and item. That makes it less likely that the tube will be crushed or cut and the item inside damaged. You can certainly buy non-telescoping tubes that are reinforced and very strong, of course, but this extra layer of strength in the telescoping tube is a nice side benefit, just in case it's the only type of tube you happen to have at the moment.

They're Easier to Seal

Tubes that seal at the end are often harder to tape up and secure. For example, tubes that have a flat, round piece that you insert in the end need pieces of tape placed all around a curved edge, which can get untidy. Plus that can use a lot of tape. With a telescoping tube, you wrap one piece of tape around the seam in the tube, and you're done. You can even use a large mailing label, although you're best off wrapping extra tape over that, too, to prevent damage in shipping from obscuring the delivery address.

They Allow You to Ship Longer Items

You've likely had the experience of fitting something into an envelope or mailing tube only to find it's just a bit too big to let you seal the mailing container. You end up mutilating the envelope flap or crushing the end of the item to fit it into the too-short tube. Telescoping tubes are perfect for this situation as you can customise (to an extent) the length of the tube and send the item safely.

Telescoping tubes themselves are available in different minimum and maximum lengths. If you have to choose one type of tube to buy (to get bulk pricing, for example), telescoping mailing tubes are a terrific option.
